چکیده

Background: Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is an important sampling site for putative biomarkers and contains immune cells. CXCL10 a multiple sclerosis (MS)-relevant chemokine that present in the injured central nervous system recruits CXCR3+ cells toward tissues. Objective: Perform comprehensive evaluation to determine potential relationship between various cell subsets CNS of MS control cases. Methods: In cases, was measured CSF plasma by ELISA. Immune within both peripheral blood were quantified flow cytometry. Results: Compared non-inflammatory neurological disease (NIND) cases had significantly higher (p = 0.021); also correlated with total numbers 0.04) T infiltrates (CD3+, p 0.01; CD4+, CD8+, 0.02); expression CXCR3 on not associated CXCL10. Conclusions: Elevated levels are increased but appear be independent expression. These results support importance elevated suggest presence alternative mechanism outside solely influencing trafficking.

Increased Circulating miR-10a Levels Associated with Multiple Sclerosis

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the central nervous system. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs 19–24 nucleotides long, which are differentially expressed in different tissues. The role of miRNAs in MS remains unclear. We assessed miR-10a transcript levels in MS patients during recurrence and two months after relapse. Ma...

Correlation between Acoustic Parameters and Disease Severity and Duration in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis

Background: Since in multiple sclerosis (MS), changes in speech and voice quality often precede other signs and symptoms; early diagnosis of these changes is necessary. In this study, an acoustic examination of phonation subsystem was performed. Due to the progressive nature of multiple sclerosis, the aim of this study was to examine the correlation between acoustic parameters ...

Multiple Sclerosis Cerebrospinal Fluid Biomarkers

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is the body fluid closest to the pathology of multiple sclerosis (MS). For many candidate biomarkers CSF is the only fluid that can be investigated. Several factors need to be standardized when sampling CSF for biomarker research: time/volume of CSF collection, sample processing/storage, and the temporal relationship of sampling to clinical or MRI markers of disease ac...

Complement Receptor 2 is increased in cerebrospinal fluid of multiple sclerosis patients and regulates C3 function.

Besides its vital role in immunity, the complement system also contributes to the shaping of the synaptic circuitry of the brain. We recently described that soluble Complement Receptor 2 (sCR2) is part of the nerve injury response in rodents. We here study CR2 in context of multiple sclerosis (MS) and explore the molecular effects of CR2 on C3 activation. Significant increases in sCR2 levels we...

Cerebrospinal fluid and plasma apolipoproteins in patients with multiple sclerosis.

Apolipoprotein (apo) E is synthesized by cells of the central and peripheral nervous systems, and its synthesis and secretion in the peripheral nervous systems, and its synthesis and secretion in the peripheral nervous system of animals are greatly stimulated following Wallerian degeneration. It has been suggested that apo E functions in the metabolism of myelin lipids, but its physiologic role...
